Give thanks2

The scriptures encourage that it is the little things that make the difference... here a little and there a little (Isaiah 28:10). Jesus highlighted the importance of small things, when He taught that though a mustard seed is one of the tiniest  of seeds yet its potential is enormous (Mark 4:31-32). I have come to appreciate that even the most basic kingdom principles are enormously helpful. I am referring to the mustard faith seed of thanksgiving. It takes faith to thank God in all seasons. It is easy to thank God in times of prosperity; however it is important that we can thank Him in seasons of scarcity and want. The mustard faith seed of thanksgiving lays foundation for Gods providence. There is power in praise. Kingdom principles are principles of authority. Kingdom principles are the execution of dominion and rulership, which to begin with, was invested in Adam at the beginning of creation. God said to Adam to have dominion and rule over the earth (Gen 1:28). In Jesus who is the last Adam, we have dominion to rule (1 Cor 15:45). Jesus did not rise on the third day in order for His church to remain defeated on a daily basis. His resurrection is our resurrection! We are called to be above and not beneath; “the axe head has floated”. The execution of kingdom authority will often be packaged in some of the tinniest of tools; and yes! One of these tools and weapons is THANKSGIVING. Think about it in these terms; let’s say that your success as a Christian is visualised in a geometry circle sphere, and that every space within that circle is indicative of your hearts attitude. Put plainly if the entire circle of your attitudes had a thanksgiving attached then I can tell you now, the devil would find it awkward to take advantage. Thanksgiving is a Weapon of WAR! Thanks giving are the execution of the Kingdom of God. Thanksgiving from your lips may be one of the tinniest of principles yet it is packed with dynamic power and authority. The real estate of your attitudes should only have a thanksgiving of worship and praise. I have learnt to thank Him even if the cupboards are low. I have learnt to thank Him even if the bills are mounting. I have learnt to thank Him based on who He is. Jesus one time healed ten leapers and only one returned to thank Him (Luke 17:17). Over the years I have encountered many peoples who sought the lord when they were hit with trials and forget Him not long after He proved Himself faithful. The nine lepers that did not return were content with their healing but showed no interest in knowing the healer. It is no different of the children of Israel that knew the acts of God yet fell short of knowing His ways. Intimacy with God is based on knowing His ways. Moses was a man that knew the ways of God (Psa 103:7). The reason that I have taken you down this route in these messages on thanksgiving is because God made very plain to me that unless His people learn to thank Him, they will struggle as lean economic times hit our country of Aotearoa New Zealand. This mustard seed principle could be the difference between life and death, survival and disaster... “Thank you Jesus for who You

The ozone layer is given to be a protection against deadly harmful rays that travel from the sun to our earth’s atmosphere. There are two deadly rays that the sun emits and our ozone layer deflects these harmful rays so as to ensure that what we receive from the suns energy is all productive for our eco system. It’s all about balance. Balance is an imperative that not only holds true in creation but is a requisite to maintain a healthy spiritual Christian life. The bible lays out healthy Christian attributes that are akin to the protection law of the Ozone Layer. One such law is the law of thanksgiving. When I use the term law it may conjure to some of you, images of a forceful enactment; but that is not the case. We have providential spiritual laws that can only be offered from a charitable freewill premise. Thanksgiving is not something that can be forced upon people, it is a freewill decision. Thanksgiving places a protective layer over our hearts and minds. It is not based on the good that God does but the good of who He is! This is where we learn the principle said to Moses in reference to Gods name; “I AM” (Exo 3:14). We thank Him because ‘He is’ (I AM). To base our thanksgiving on the good things that happen in our lives has limitations, given that we face challenges in life’s journey. A good recipe in life is to start the day with thanksgiving and praise. Thanksgiving changes the atmosphere; thanksgiving lays foundation for Gods glory to be manifest. People of thanksgiving are people who appreciate God not based on circumstances but on recognition of His greatness and worth. I have learnt to praise and thank Him irrespective of the difficulties I face. It is easy to thank Him in times of prosperity but thanksgiving takes on a new dimension of authority in times of scarcity and want. Thanksgiving is a WEAPON OF WAR! The devil is the master of camouflage. He’ll come in the form of rights and what is fair; to get us to stop thanking God, given that life has dished up some lousy times of hardship. People of thanksgiving expose the enemies camouflage and strip him of stronghold capabilities! Every time I have met people who are unthankful they always want to let you know how hard life is, what problems they have and why life is not fair. By the way who said life was supposed to be fair? Thank God Jesus did not think that way when He went to the cross. Thanksgiving like the ozone layer will protect us against the harmful rays of bitterness and un-forgiveness; IT’S A LAW! Giving thanks always... for all things to God the father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ (Eph 5:20). In candour I have been on the receiving end of some harsh reality checks with life’s unfairness, yet I have maintained to not praise and thank Him based on the quality of my life’s good times but on the fact of who He is. He is ‘I AM’ in the midst of all storms. He is ‘I AM’ when the cupboards are low. He is ‘I AM’ when the bank balance is depleted. He is constant for all seasons... and I thank Him for His goodness.

Furnace Heated Days

1Sa 17:37: Moreover David said, "The LORD, who delivered me from the paw of the lion and from the paw of the bear, He will deliver me from the hand of this Philistine." And Saul said to David, "Go, and the LORD be with you!" God’s name is most revered when against impossible odds He comes to the aid of His people. It took threats from philistine Goliath to set in motion what would be a great legacy in King David. Without Goliath’s challenge David would not have been able to display godly indignation. Purpose swelled in David’s heart when he heard Goliath’s taunts. He knew from past experiences in which God had delivered him from the lion and bear that victory was imminent against this giant. What valour, what courage! Daniel 17:22-25: Therefore, because the king's command was urgent, and the furnace exceedingly hot, the flame of the fire killed those men who took up Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego. And these three men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego, fell down bound into the midst of the burning fiery furnace. Then King Nebuchadnezzar was astonished; and he rose in haste and spoke, saying to his counselors, "Did we not cast three men bound into the midst of the fire?" They answered and said to the king, "True, O king." "Look!" he answered, "I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire; and they are not hurt, and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God." It was because of Israel’s disobedience that they were exiled to Babylon. Having to dwell in a land where the peoples of that region had no fear of God brought about many challenges. It was within this setting that God would prove His power in the most unusual of ways. Nebuchadnezzar the king of that land put forward a decree at the conclusion of having an idol made of gold, in which that all peoples at the hearing of the official horn blowing accompanied with music, were to stop whatever they were doing and worship this idol. Daniel and his two friends (Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-Nego) being steadfast in their Judean tradition of Moses law, defied the command, and were willing to suffer the punishment of being placed into a fiery furnace. King Nebuchadnezzar was infuriated with their obstinacy and had the furnace heated seven times its normal strength. He then had certain mighty men of his army tie them up and proceed to place them in the furnace. Given that the furnace was overheated the flames consumed Nebuchadnezzar’s mighty men. Daniel and his friends were joined by a fourth witness in the furnace and were kept from harm. When Nebuchadnezzar saw not only the three persons but a fourth in the furnace, he was shocked and called out for Daniel and co to step out of the furnace. On inspection after they came out, not one hair was singe, nor did the smell of smoke rest on them. They were totally protected by a great and resounding miracle of God! Why the aforementioned are pertinent for our times is that we will face awkward and challenging days ahead. The Spirit of God spoke to me that the heating of the furnace by Nebuchadnezzar is a blueprint of what will transpire in these last days. The Spirit said to me that we are entering “Heated Furnace Times,” Heated Furnace Days = Last days. It was said to me that I was to write this article/prophecy to inform Gods people that God will have a fourth witness to accompany us in these furnace heated last days. That fourth witness is ‘HIS VOICE.’ The bandwidth of the voice of God will continue to journey with each one of His people in these difficult times. We will see an emergence of Gods voice no different to the strength of the voice of Jonah that resulted in over 120,000 people of Nineveh repent in ashes and sackcloth. The voice that God communicates with today will be a continuum of His voice that was exemplified in the Garden of Eden. Eden’s eco system was centred on the frequency of Gods voice. His voice traversed its entire circumference and in its wake plants were replenished. The garden was frequency based. This law is as real today as it were back then; we need His voice. Man cannot live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God (Matt 4:4). Even as I am writing you can hear the echo of the voice of God speaking in what I am saying. ‘God Words’ are not only words on paper but they are spirit and life (John 6:63). Global economies will enter a time of ‘heated furnace judgement’. Paul the apostle spoke that the last days would be perilous times (2 Tim 3:1). Jesus warned that we will see famines, earthquakes, nation against nation, and kingdom against kingdom (Matt 24:7-8). Famines are no different to economic collapses. Focusing on how to meet weekly budget without the requisite to ‘seek first the kingdom of God’ can be a recipe for disaster (Matt 6:33). Our finances wrapped within the strength of Gods kingdom exert a law of multiplication. The story of Jesus with the feeding of five thousand amplifies this principle (Luke 9:14-17). Jesus signalled the providence of having Gods voice active in our times when He spoke of a wise and foolish man that built their houses either upon the rock or sand (Matt 7:24-27). What is good about the story of building ones house upon the rock of ‘God solutions’ is that the story did not draw a picture of, “No testing’s” but the contrary; we are told within the story to expect tempest storms. Life is full of testing’s. You’d never know the quality of one’s foundation unless storms come your way. It is important that our minds are not swayed with the delusion of buying into “Jesus without trials”. Jesus did not preach a gospel of privileges without sacrifices. The days of preaching candy floss sermons are over. People need to hear the truth with integrity. Recently the Spirit of God caught my attention with a very profound timely concept. He started with the words: “trouble is looming”. After this He quickened the story of Apostle Peter getting out of the boat to walk upon the water (Matt 14:28-32). We know in the story that Peter was steady on his feet until he got to the place that the winds became tempest and out of fear he lost his footing and began to sink. Fortunately, Jesus was there to aid him. I have read this story several times and even preached messages of “Peter getting out of the boat”. Yet it wasn’t until the Spirit spoke this revelation that I saw this story in an entirely different light. The Spirit said, “the storm was waiting for Peter to step out of the boat” Wow! I have never seen it like that. The storm was in wait for Peter to get out of the boat. In candour, the enemy is well aware of these expectant times we live and he knows that God has reserved the best moves of His Spirit for today, and yes, he is waiting for the promises of God to in figure ‘step out of the boat’. God’s promises always work through His people. There will be storms in many areas. Those of my readers that are of the nation of Aotearoa New Zealand; there is a cloud of, “Hope Deferred” on the horizon. Hope deferred makes the heart sick (Prov 13:12) yet when desire comes it is a tree of life. Hope deferred is a psyche complaint. The enemy takes full advantage of this condition. It was said to me that this complaint will cause the spirits of many to stoop low in despair. You cannot have unemployment numbers reach record levels and not have concern. It is not coincidental that when economies blister to record levels, they are titled, “Depressions”. Depressions = Hope Deferred. Ironically the best moves of Gods Spirit have been reserved to take centre stage at the times when the furnace will be heated 7 times its normal temperature. I have waited with baited breath for these days. The bandwidths of Gods Promises being fulfilled have reached high intensity levels. The storm may be waiting for Gods last days’ church to step out but we remain focused on the fulfilment of Gods last day’s plans and not lose our footing....
